We came at Christmas time and what a lovely cafe. Christmas trees and lights with fireplace heaters! No wonder the parking lot is always packed. Previous failed attempts to stop for breakfast. But today was the day. The service is top notch and so friendly. The food was amazing we had the Monte Cristo and the house favorite with chicken fried steak. A very satisfying experience all around.
friendly service, delicious smells! from the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with a warm smile and seated in the cute upstairs room. the service was quick, food hot and fresh and atmosphere warm and inviting. The biscuits and gravy weren't the best I ever had just not enough sausage and flavor in the gravy but the other two dishes definitely hit "order again" status.
A cozy spot right off Highway 101. The menu was a bit limited but they do ha GF options. We got the Monte Cristo and house potatoes with coffee. Coffee comes in a very large cup and they are good about checking on you. The Monte Cristo was 3 thick slices of French toast bread topped with powdered sugar. One deck had white cheese and a chicken breast tender and the other deck had a thick slab of ham and yellow cheese. They did not use deli meat which was a huge plus. They served it with a small dipping cup of syrup and I have no idea how they heated this sandwich but it was burn your mouth lava hot in temperature. The potatoes were brown crispy cubes. Likely they deep fry them but they were crispy and good.
Nelscott looks a bit like a tiny home, quaint and cozy. It's larger on the inside, however, and can seat small groups of 4-5 pretty comfortably. Their breakfasts are wonderful and their beignets amazing! If you're looking for a relaxing place to sip some good coffee and get a tasty breakfast, Nelscott's of your place!
This is a go to spot! The coffee is amazing. The waitresses are so sweet. The food is perfect. I had the best club sandwich I've ever had. Chicken and ham weren't just lunch meat but a ham steak and chicken breast. The fries were to die for, perfectly cooked and seasoned.
